Summary: The SDET role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests and software utilities, with a strong emphasis on API testing and the use of Playwright. The position requires collaboration with technical teams and adherence to software engineering best practices. Candidates should have extensive experience in automation frameworks and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. This is a long-term remote position aimed at enhancing test automation processes and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, document, and maintain automated tests and in-house software utilities
- Adhere to established software engineering best practices and standards
- Collaborate with other technical resources
- Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards
- Design and develop automated tests and/or software tools
- Understand and refine requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve maintainability of test automation platform
- Apply test driven design concepts to test and debug automated solutions and software utilities
- Deliver accurate and maintainable code for test automation and software utilities
- Build CI/CD pipelines using groovy scripts to handle execution of test suites
- Manage stakeholder communications, including with senior leaders in the domain area
Key Skills:
- BS/BA or equivalent education or experience
- 10+ years of relevant hands-on SDET work experience with a focus on automation frameworks and automation testing
- Proven experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
- Hands-on experience with node-based test suites using frameworks like Cypress, Webdriver.io, Puppeteer, or Playwright
- Proficient in coding in TypeScript and JavaScript on Node stack
- Experience with java-based test suites using Selenium, Cucumber, and jUnit
- Expertise in web services testing with RestAssured/Karate
- Advanced experience with Git + GitHub, CI/CD orchestration tooling (Jenkins, Travis, Circle or similar), Artifact Management (Artifactory, Nexus or similar)
- Detailed understanding of build processes for Java (SpringBoot) and Node.js (Angular)
- Good understanding of Docker containerization
- Highly collaborative with the ability to influence others and build strong relationships
- Hands-on experience driving innovation processes from end-to-end
- Background in DevOps environment preferred
