Summary: The Scrum Master will lead and coach multiple agile teams in a remote setting, focusing on software development projects for higher education clients. This role involves facilitating scrum ceremonies, removing obstacles, and promoting agile principles to enhance team performance and collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach multiple agile teams across diverse software development projects with varying priorities, timelines, and complexities.
- Facilitate core scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
- Proactively identify and help remove obstacles that may hinder the team's progress.
- Champion agile principles and guide teams in adopting a continuous improvement mindset.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to ensure clear prioritization and alignment with business goals.
- Monitor team performance through agile metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.) and use insights to drive team efficiency.
- Support inter-team coordination and dependency management across multiple agile teams.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within and across teams.
- Work closely with the PMO and delivery leads to refine and scale agile practices tailored to project and organizational needs.
- Maintain a balance between strategic oversight and hands-on facilitation to support daily operations.
- Help teams stay focused on delivering high-quality solutions that provide tangible business value.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
- Proven success managing or supporting multiple agile teams across simultaneous projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with the ability to tailor approaches to team maturity and project context.
- Experience working in or with higher education institutions or clients (strongly preferred).
- Solid software development background with an understanding of modern development practices (e.g., Java, CI/CD pipelines).
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and G-Suite.
