Summary: The Scrum Master role involves serving as a facilitator for an Agile team, ensuring adherence to Lean/Agile methodologies while driving productivity and transparency. The position requires coaching team members, consulting with product owners, and addressing complex issues to enhance project delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities and possess a strong understanding of Agile frameworks. This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as Scrum Master for an assigned Agile team within a specified product or feature area.
- Coaches team / team members on adherence to Lean / Agile methodology, striving to improve productivity, predictability and transparency.
- Consults with product owner / manager on Lean / Agile benefits, including improved project control and risk reduction, enhanced delivery, sustainability and reuse, and transparency.
- Escalates and tracks complex (cross-team) and difficult issues and impediments to management for consideration and help with resolution.
- Facilitates preparation and readiness for cross-team feature alignment / planning events.
- Collaborates with Product and Engineering teams through all technology and process development steps.
- Provides input to development managers on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
- Ensures team(s) utilizes appropriate tools and quality processes (e.g., Feature / Epic / Story kick off, pair programming, automated test coverage).
- Collects, interprets and communicates metrics regarding team performance, identifying leading indicators of challenges and suggesting resolutions.
- Drives team productivity improvements and measures and communicates outcome of initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years experience in a related field; or a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years experience; or 10 years experience in a related field with no degree.
- Foundational skills in analytical thinking, effective presentations, managing multiple priorities, project administration & management and technology savvy.
- Acts with integrity. Foundational skills in building partnerships, driving innovation, focusing on execution and striving for excellence.
