Summary: FDM is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join their team in the public sector on a 6-month remote contract, with potential for extension. The role involves providing servant-leadership to multiple Scrum teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and promoting collaboration and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning sessions, contributing to the successful coordination and alignment of Agile Release Trains
- Work closely with product owners to ensure features and backlog items are well defined, prioritised, and ready for development
- Promote continuous improvement by helping teams identify and implement ways to increase productivity and performance
- Coach and mentor team members to deepen their understanding of Agile values, principles and practices
- Support the application of Scrum, Kanban and other Agile frameworks in a flexible and pragmatic manner that fits business requirements
- Encourage open communication, alignment and collaboration across teams to achieve shared sprint and ART objectives
- Contribute to the wider organisation by promoting Agile and Scaled Agile practices, helping to build a consistent and sustainable Agile culture
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Scrum Master in Agile environments
- Practical experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Sound knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies
- Proficient in the use of Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience using BigPicture for managing Agile initiatives within Jira (desirable)
- A strong track record of coaching and empowering Agile teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with adapting Agile techniques to suit specific business contexts
- Experience working with engineering or technology infrastructure teams (desirable)
- Knowledge of FPGAs or System-on-Chips (SoCs) is a plus
- SAFe certification (such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)) is highly desirable

Requirements

- Practical experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including planning and leading PI Planning sessions
- Sound knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies, with the ability to apply and adapt them as appropriate
- Proficient in the use of Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence, including the ability to generate useful reports and dashboards
- Experience using BigPicture (desirable) for managing Agile initiatives within Jira
- A strong track record of coaching and empowering Agile teams to improve delivery, productivity and team dynamics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts, foster collaboration, and build consensus
- Familiarity with adapting Agile techniques to suit specific business contexts that do not follow a traditional Agile model
- Experience working with engineering or technology infrastructure teams (desirable)
- Knowledge of FPGAs or System-on-Chips (SoCs) is a plus, although not essential
- SAFe certification (such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)) is highly desirable
