Summary: The SCADA / OSI Monarch Power Platform Lead Solution Engineer is responsible for supporting and troubleshooting OSI-Monarch's Power System Applications, ensuring system reliability and optimized monitoring. The role requires extensive experience in SCADA systems and involves collaboration with various teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions. The position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates located in the Columbus, OH area. The role is classified as outside IR35, indicating a flexible working arrangement for independent contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support OSI-Monarch's Power System Applications including Automatic Generation Control (AGC)
- Troubleshoot the operational SCADA environment and ensure optimized monitoring and system reliability reporting
- Maintain Monarch custom DB configurations
- Provide on-call support after hours (24 x 7) as needed
- Design, develop, and install software solutions
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis
- Collaborate with Project Management, Business Analyst, and Infrastructure teams
- Develop custom presentations and demonstrations for various audiences
- Generate infrastructure support documentation
- Evaluate and propose advanced process improvements
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
- 10 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting OSI Monarch SCADA systems
- Understanding of NERC CIP security principles
- Knowledge of WAN and VPN concepts
- Basic understanding of C programming language
- Knowledge of Communication Protocols (DNP3, Modbus, ICCP)
- Understanding of Ladder Logic
- Knowledge of RTU (Remote Terminal Units)
- Ability to work independently and develop advanced solutions

Basic Qualifications :
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in supporting the OSI Monarch SCADA systems
- Understanding of NERC CIP security principals;
- Understanding of WAN and VPN concepts
- Basic understanding of C programming language
- Knowledge of Communnication Protocols (DNP3, Modbus, ICCP)
- Understanding of Ladder Logic desired

Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.
