Summary: The SCADA / EMS Solution Designer role requires expertise in power system applications and SCADA systems, focusing on EMS applications and high availability control room applications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with power system applications and/or SCADA systems, including EMS applications like Power Flow and State Estimation.
  • Hands-on expertise with GE PowerOn Reliance, AEMS Platform, and equivalent SCADA/DMS/EMS platforms.
  • Creation of display & visualization elements, including SLD, HMI development, and real-time dashboards.
  • Programming and scripting for application interfacing using languages like C, C++, PERL, and Java.
  • Real-time data acquisition, Historian integration, and data logging.
  • Performance tuning and monitoring, including query optimization and database health monitoring.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with power system applications and SCADA systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with GE PowerOn Reliance, AEMS Platform, and equivalent platforms.
  • Skills in display & visualization, including SLD creation and HMI development.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

  • The Solution Designer should have experience with power system applications and/or SCADA systems. This may include exposure to one or more EMS applications such as Power Flow, State Estimation, Contingency Analysis (including N 1 concepts), Generation Control or Automatic Generation Control, and alarms and calculations, including an understanding of how SCADA quality affects EMS performance. Alternatively, the person may have experience with SCADA systems and high availability control room applications.
  • Hands-on expertise preferably on GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21), AEMS Platform, GE eTerra, PowerOn Advantage Software, as well as SCADA / DMS/ EMS of any equivalent platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider etc.
  • Display & Visualization SLD creation, HMI development, real-time dashboards, operator displays, and reports
  • Programming / Scripting C, C++, PERL, Java or equivalent for application interfacing and scripting
  • Data Handling Real-time data acquisition, Historian integration, data replication, and logging
  • Performance Tuning & Monitoring Query optimization, indexing, database health monitoring
