Summary: The SC Cleared Microsoft Windows & Active Directory Lead is responsible for designing and developing the Active Directory infrastructure for the AIC project. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams to ensure compliance and successful deployment of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory configurations. The candidate will also engage in documentation, testing, and mentoring activities while promoting best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage Active Directory to support P-AIC systems.
- Work with Senior Cloud Engineers to implement Active Directory configurations, including group policies and certificate management.
- Support design and development of Microsoft Windows based systems with other engineering teams.
- Identify problems and provide solutions, delivering outputs such as technical presentations, documentation, user guides, and system installations.
- Lead or contribute to documentation and testing activities.
- Promote best practices and mentor colleagues.
- Engage in agile development and support security, safety, and compliance activities.
- Assist with estimation and change control processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong demonstrable Microsoft skills in deploying and managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to write technical documentation.
- Able to mentor junior team members.
- Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS.
- Proficiency in PowerShell for configuration and management of Microsoft services.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Associate.

Job Title: SC Cleared Microsoft Windows & Active Directory Lead
Location: Remote/Malven
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £600 per day via an approved umbrella company
Role overview:
Microsoft Windows & Active Directory Lead will be responsible for designing and developing the Active Directory infrastructure for the AIC project.
Will provide guidance and assistance with Microsoft Windows Server configuration and deployment to meet project requirements.
Collaboration with and supporting other engineering teams and assurance teams to ensure alignment with compliance requirements
Responsibilities and output:
Configure and manage Active Directory to support P-AIC systems.
Candidate will work with Senior Cloud Engineers to finalise and implement the desired Active Directory configuration, including group policies and certificate management based on the integration needs of the project.
Candidate will support and engage with engineers from other teams to input into design and development of Microsoft Windows based systems.
Working to time and budget, the candidate will be responsible for identifying problems, providing pragmatic solutions and delivering outputs which may include:
- Technical presentation
- Technical documentation
- User guides and work instructions
- Design or process documents
- Infrastructure or software build
- System installation or integration
Lead or contribute to documentation as required. Lead or contribute to testing activities as required.
Promote best practice, mentor colleagues, and identify continuous improvement ideas and presentation of approaches to internal and external colleagues for awareness.
Fully engage in the agile development approach, upskilling in SAFe practices where necessary (training can be provided).
Support and engage with security, safety and compliance activities, incorporating derived requirements into evolution of the design through life.
Support estimation and the change control processes as needed.
