Key Responsibilities:
- Design and enable VMware vDefend Advanced Threat Protection features
- Support IDS/IPS policy enablement and tuning
- Assist with malware prevention configuration and optimisation
- Develop threat scenarios and advanced detection use cases
- Support threat assessment, investigation, and evidence-chain analysis
- Assist with testing, validation, and Day 2 operational activities
- Assist with deployment of the vDefend Firewall platform
- Support Distributed Firewall (DFW) policy creation and rule migration
- Define and scale policy structures and operating models
- Build security policies across Infrastructure and applications
- Assist with Identity Firewall configuration
- Support logging, monitoring, visibility, and operational metrics
- Assist with capacity management and standardisation goals
- Support product upgrades, patching, and ongoing optimisation
- Develop custom dashboards and reporting
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware NSX/vDefend Firewall
- Proven experience designing and deploying ATP/IDS/IPS solutions
- Expertise in distributed Firewall policy design (Macro/Meso/Micro)
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and security visibility tools
- Ability to support security investigations and attack lifecycle analysis
- Experience operating in large, complex enterprise environments

Our client, a well-established VMware Partner and professional services organisation, is seeking an experienced VMware vDefend Firewall Architect to support a major security transformation programme within a large enterprise environment.
Role & Responsibilities
You will be part of an expert consulting team delivering two key workstreams:
Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
