Summary: The Lead Platform Engineer role involves overseeing platform operations across AWS and on-premise environments, ensuring stability, security, and performance. This hands-on position requires collaboration with delivery teams throughout the full lifecycle of platform services. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and support platform services, including out-of-hours P1 incident support when required
- Maintain secure and stable AWS and on-prem environments
- Provide L3 support across incidents, problems, and changes
- Manage patching cycles, upgrades, and release activities
- Support CI/CD tooling and environment readiness (SIT, UAT, Go-Live)
- Maintain and test BCDR plans and ensure platform resilience
- Contribute to vulnerability remediation, compliance, and governance
- Produce low-level design documentation and support release management activities
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with AWS platforms (EC2, VPC, IAM, AMIs, patching pipelines)
- Solid Windows and/or Linux platform engineering experience
- Exposure to on-prem infrastructure (eg virtualisation, Firewalls, networking)
- Experience providing L3 support in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and monitoring tooling
- Understanding of secure environments and compliance best practices

Working as part of a high-performing engineering function, you'll play a key role in ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant platform services across a complex client ecosystem spanning cloud and on-premise environments.
The Role
We're looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to take ownership of platform operations across AWS and on-premise environments. You'll be responsible for maintaining stability, security, and performance while supporting delivery teams through the full life cycle, from development environments through to production. This is a hands-on role with a strong operational focus, working across infrastructure, support, and continuous improvement.
