Summary: The role of Senior Data Architect involves leading a focused engagement to assess the feasibility of centralising cyber security data and insights. The architect will manage the entire data architecture process, from evaluating the current data landscape to defining a path for minimum viable product (MVP) delivery. Active SC Clearance is essential for this position, which is remote and has a contract duration of 3 months with potential extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess priority cyber datasets for readiness, quality, sensitivity, ownership, and access constraints
- Define what is MVP-ready, what needs remediation, and what belongs in a future state
- Set clear architectural guardrails to guide MVP delivery, covering data centralisation vs federation, secure access, privacy, and metadata-led discovery
- Advise pragmatically on tools and platforms, aligned to what's achievable within the engagement
- Support proof-of-concept insights, ensuring assumptions, limitations, and reuse potential are clear
- Contribute to a prioritised MVP backlog and provide a robust architecture handover
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of data governance, sharing, lineage, and stewardship
- Experience working in high-security or restricted data environments
- Ability to translate technical constraints into clear, decision-ready advice
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and hands-on data teams
- Background in mixed cloud/platform environments (eg Microsoft and Google)
