Summary: The SC Cleared AWS Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services using Infrastructure as Code, primarily on AWS. The role involves collaboration with engineering and assurance teams to ensure compliance and best practices. The position is remote with occasional meetings in Malvern and is initially contracted until December 2025. The candidate will also engage in agile development practices and support security and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure and services for P-AIC systems.
- Identify problems and provide pragmatic solutions within time and budget constraints.
- Deliver technical presentations, documentation, test plans, user guides, and design documents.
- Lead or contribute to testing activities and documentation as required.
- Promote best practices, mentor colleagues, and present continuous improvement ideas.
- Engage in agile development and upskill in SAFe practices as necessary.
- Support security, safety, and compliance activities throughout the design lifecycle.
- Assist with estimation and change control processes as needed.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in AWS and a broad range of cloud services.
- Strong scripting skills and automation experience using tools like Ansible.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and advanced use of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with experience in incident response.
- Experience working in an Agile methodology and writing technical documentation.
- Configuration control experience with Git and familiarity with Terraform.
- Desirable skills include containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and Microsoft technologies.

Role Description
Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services using Infrastructure as Code. Collaboration with and supporting other engineering teams and assurance teams to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.
Responsibilities & Output
- Design, develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure and services to support the delivery and running of P-AIC systems.
- Working to time and budget, the candidate will be responsible for identifying problems, providing pragmatic solutions and Delivering outputs which may include:
- Technical presentation
- Technical documentation
- Test plans and reports
- User guides and work instructions
- Design or process documents
- Infrastructure or software build
- System installation or integration
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Lead or contribute to documentation as required.
- Lead or contribute to testing activities as required.
- Promote best practice, mentor colleagues, and identify continuous improvement ideas and presentation of approaches to internal and external colleagues for awareness.
- Fully engage in the agile development approach, upskilling in SAFe practices where necessary (training can be provided).
- Support and engage with security, safety and compliance activities, incorporating derived requirements into evolution of the design through life.
- Support estimation and the change control processes as needed.
