Key Responsibilities:
- Building advanced AI systems including RAG, GraphRAG, and agent-based workflows
- Designing and deploying end-to-end AI pipelines
- Working on complex retrieval, reasoning, and optimisation problems
- Evaluating and improving model performance beyond baseline approaches
- Contributing to architecture decisions for scalable AI systems
Key Skills:
- Active SC clearance (or recently lapsed, eligible for reactivation)
- Strong academic background (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, AI or similar)
- Proven experience building production-grade AI systems
- Deep understanding of LLMs and their limitations
- Deep understanding of retrieval systems (RAG, embeddings, hybrid search)
- Deep understanding of agent frameworks or orchestration (LangGraph or similar)
- Strong Python skills and experience with modern AI tooling

We're working with a client building advanced AI capabilities in secure, high-assurance environments. They are looking for highly technical AI engineers with strong academic backgrounds and proven experience building complex AI systems in production.
This is not a general ML role or a software engineering role with AI exposure. We are specifically looking for engineers who can design and build advanced AI solutions from first principles.
What you'll be doing:
- Building advanced AI systems including RAG, GraphRAG, and agent-based workflows
- Designing and deploying end-to-end AI pipelines
- Working on complex retrieval, reasoning, and optimisation problems
- Evaluating and improving model performance beyond baseline approaches
- Contributing to architecture decisions for scalable AI systems
What we're looking for:
