SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant

Project Context

The client is undertaking a major global enterprise transformation program centered on an SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition implementation. This initiative is designed to harmonize enterprise processes across finance, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and HR. As part of the global supply chain transformation workstream, the client requires an experienced SAP TM Consultant to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of global transportation and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP TM processes within an SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud landscape.
• Conduct business workshops to gather global transportation requirements, perform fit-gap analyses, and align business requirements with standard S/4HANA capabilities.
• Configure core SAP TM functionalities, including Transportation Planning, Freight Order Management, Freight Unit Building, Route Planning & Optimization, and Freight Settlement.
• Ensure seamless end-to-end integration between SAP TM and core supply chain modules, specifically SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), SAP SD (Sales & Distribution), and SAP MM (Materials Management).
• Draft detailed functional specifications for required technical enhancements, reports, and EDI/API integrations with 3PLs, carriers, and external logistics networks.
• Collaborate with data migration teams to define mapping and cleansing rules for transportation master data and network definitions.
• Support all testing phases (SIT, UAT), cutover activities, and post-go-live hypercare stabilization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive functional consulting experience in SAP TM, with proven hands-on implementation experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Deep functional understanding of freight cost management, charge calculations, inbound/outbound transportation execution, and shipment monitoring.
• Demonstrable expertise in integrating SAP TM with SAP EWM, SD, MM, and external supply chain nodes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex logistics routing and transportation scenarios into scalable SAP solutions.
• Experience operating within large-scale, multi-stream enterprise transformation programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the specialty chemicals, process manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite and SAP BTP for broader supply chain connectivity.

Language Requirements

• English (Fluent). Additional languages to be confirmed based on the final deployment location.
