SAP TMS Functional lead

Summary: The SAP TMS Functional Lead is responsible for managing order and transportation requirements, planning freight logistics, and ensuring effective charge and freight settlement processes. The role requires expertise in SAP TM integration with core logistics and warehouse management systems, as well as strong analytical skills for business requirement gathering and data migration. The position is primarily remote but may also be based in California. The candidate should possess hands-on experience in SAP ABAP configuration and debugging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Management: Deep understanding of Order-Based Transportation Requirements (OTR) and Delivery-Based Transportation Requirements (DTR).
• Transportation Planning: Setting up Freight Units, Freight Orders, and using the Transportation for routing, scheduling, and capacity utilization.
• Charge & Freight Settlement: Configuring calculation profiles, rate tables, and freight agreements to audit and settle carrier costs.
• Deployment Models: Knowledge of the difference between Basic TM (included in S/4HANA) and Advanced TM (for complex logistics and side-by-side deployments).
• bn4l gtt / BTP OR any DRF experience for master data integrations from ERP / MDG.
• Hands on configurator with Debugging experience in SAP ABAP.
• Core Logistics: Seamless integration between SAP TM and Sales & Distribution (SD) or Materials Management (MM).
• Warehouse Integration: Bridge SAP TM and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and BlueYonder WMS for smooth goods issue/receipt processes.
• TM Implementation Experience on a separate RISE instance from S4.
• Business Requirement Gathering: Translating complex client supply chain requirements into actionable SAP configuration designs and functional specifications.
• Data Migration & Master Data: Understanding transportation network master data (locations, zones, shipping types, and carriers).
• Testing & Support: Conducting Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Key Skills:

• Expertise in SAP TM and its integration with SD and MM.
• Experience with Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and BlueYonder WMS.
• Strong analytical skills for business requirement gathering and functional specification design.
• Hands-on experience in SAP ABAP configuration and debugging.
• Knowledge of transportation network master data management.
• Experience in conducting various testing phases including UAT.
• Understanding of freight settlement processes and charge configurations.
• Familiarity with deployment models in SAP TM.
