SAP TM and WM Analyst

Next Ventures are currently executing a serach for a Senior SAP TM and WM Analyst for a EU roll out.

Aplicants must me based in European time zone and have either a EU or UK passport and able to go on site for a week when client has Go live etc.

Skills: SAP TM, SAP WM, Logistics Execution and Stock Room Management in ECC (essential) (No EWM needed).

SATM Integration with Stock Room Management (WM) or vice versa.

Our clients are undertaking a system conversion to transition transportation processes currently managed through SAP Shipments in ECC to SAP Transportation Management (TM). The services required to support design, build, testing, and deployment activities associated with the SAP TM implementation and the decommissioning of legacy shipment processes(ECC).

Objectives

• Replace ECC Shipment functionality with SAP TM for planning, execution, and freight settlement.
• Ensure seamless data integration between SAP TM, SAP Stock Room Management), and core S/4 modules (SD, MM, LE, FI, FT).
• Align transportation master data, freight order management, and charge calculation structures with TM best practices.
• Minimize disruption to ongoing logistics operations during the transition.

Scope of Work

The selected contractor(s) will provide specialized SAP functional and technical resources to perform the following activities:

Project Planning & Assessment

• Review existing ECC shipment configurations, customizations, and interfaces.
• Document current-state transportation processes and integration points.
• Identify gaps between ECC shipment functionality and SAP TM capabilities.
• Contribute to project planning, timeline development, and resource estimation.

Design & Configuration

• Strong SAP WM design & configuration experience.
• Support blueprint and solution design workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
• Configure SAP TM for transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement.
• Define master data structures (locations, transportation lanes, resources, business partners).
• Design and map freight orders, freight units, and planning strategies.
• Configure integration with SD, MM, Stock Room, and Finance modules as applicable.

Technical Development & Integration

• Support development of custom enhancements, BAdIs, or user exits (if needed).
• Design and test interfaces between TM and S/4 (using IDocs, APIs, or CPI).
• Support data conversion and migration activities from ECC shipment documents to TM freight documents.
• Develop and execute unit and integration test scripts.

Testing & Validation

• Participate in functional unit testing (FUT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Validate end-to-end transportation scenarios including planning, tendering, execution, and settlement.
• Resolve defects and support regression testing cycles.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Provide key user training sessions and supporting documentation.
• Deliver technical and functional knowledge transfer to internal IT and business support teams.

Go-Live & Post-Go-Live Support

• Support cutover planning, mock conversions, and go-live execution.
• Provide hypercare and defect resolution support during stabilization phase.
• Assist with decommissioning of legacy shipment processes
