Summary: The SAP S/4 R2R Process Lead will spearhead the Record to Report workstream for a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme within a leading grocery retailer. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define future-state processes and drive best practices during the discovery and design phases. The position offers a 6-month initial contract with strong potential for extension, primarily remote work, and requires immediate availability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP R2R processes, particularly within the grocery retail sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Record to Report (R2R) workstream across the discovery and planning phases.
- Define and document future-state Finance processes aligned with SAP S/4HANA best practices.
- Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to gather requirements and challenge existing processes where appropriate.
- Drive fit-to-standard workshops and support process harmonisation across the business.
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Functional Consultants and Systems Integrators to shape the overall Finance solution.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and ensure alignment with programme objectives.
- Support governance, process design decisions and business readiness activities.
- Act as the key SME for all Record to Report process-related discussions throughout the programme.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience leading SAP Record to Report (R2R) workstreams on large-scale SAP transformation programmes.
- Strong functional experience across SAP S/4HANA Finance, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Asset Accounting, Period-End Close and Financial Reporting.
- Previous experience with RISE with SAP is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience within the grocery retail sector is essential.
- Experience working through discovery, assessment and programme mobilisation phases.
- Strong understanding of SAP best practice Finance processes and fit-to-standard methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.
- Fluent English.

Next Ventures is exclusively supporting a leading grocery retailer as they embark on a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme. The organisation is currently in the discovery phase of a large-scale 3–5 year S/4HANA RISE programme, and we are looking for an experienced SAP Record to Report (R2R) Process Lead to join the programme from the outset.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future Finance operating model and R2R processes for a major enterprise transformation, with strong extension potential beyond the initial 6-month contract.
Role Overview
As the SAP R2R Process Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Record to Report workstream throughout the discovery and design phases of the S/4HANA RISE programme. You will work closely with Finance stakeholders, business process owners, SI partners and programme leadership to define future-state processes, drive best practice adoption and ensure the Finance solution supports the organisation's strategic objectives.
