Summary: Baer is seeking an experienced SAP Proposal-to-Reward Consultant for a 12+ month project focused on upgrading financial and procurement systems for a Department of Defense branch. The role involves leading the transformation of talent lifecycle processes in an SAP S/4HANA environment, with responsibilities including functional workshops, fit-gap analyses, and collaboration with various teams. The position requires occasional travel to Rosslyn, VA, and a strong understanding of SAP HCM modules. Candidates must have relevant experience and an active or interim Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading functional workshops to document current-state P2R processes and design future-state workflows that align with S/4HANA capabilities. Bi-weekly travel to Rosslyn, VA for 4-6 weeks may be required.
- Conducting fit-gap analyses to identify transformation opportunities and minimize system customizations.
- Documenting current-state processes and designing optimized to-be process models that align with out-of-the-box SAP HCM functionality.
- Supporting the design and configuration of SAP HCM modules including Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), and Performance Management to enable seamless execution of position proposals, talent evaluation, and employee reward processes within the S/4HANA framework.
- Collaborating with Organizational Change Management (OCM), Data, and Governance teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and documentation of key design decisions.
- Supporting integration with related processes including Hire-to-Retire (H2R), Payroll, and Budget-to-Report (B2R) for workforce planning and financial forecasting.
- Developing and maintaining configuration documents, functional specifications, test cases, and training materials to support Agile delivery.
- Participating in agile ceremonies and helping drive solution validation through iterative sandbox demonstrations and UAT preparation.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of SAP functional experience across talent management, compensation, performance evaluation, or organizational planning processes.
- Strong understanding of the Proposal-to-Reward lifecycle and related HR modules such as Organizational Management (OM), Personnel Administration (PA), and Performance Management.
- Hands-on experience with S/4HANA HCM solution design and configuration.
- Experience supporting business process transformation efforts within federal or government-regulated environments.
- Strong facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required. (Clearance sponsorship for candidates with relevant experience may be available on a case-by-case basis).
