Summary: The SAP HANA Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining and optimizing HANA databases, including data migration to HANA cloud and ensuring high availability through disaster recovery. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency in SQL, along with experience in managing HANA environments and performance tuning. The candidate will also be involved in database security, user management, and monitoring processes. A flexible schedule may be required, including after-hours work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain HANA databases and migrate data to HANA cloud.
  • Perform takeovers, failovers, and periodic disaster recovery tests.
  • Support all HANA environment lifecycle phases including planning, installation, configuration, and patching.
  • Provide technical expertise for HANA performance and tuning.
  • Monitor HANA databases, set up alerting, and automate monitoring processes.
  • Manage users and roles in SAP HANA system, and create audit policies.
  • Run and troubleshoot SQL scripts and understand procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Implement SAP HANA security mechanisms and integrate HANA into remote systems.
  • Communicate effectively for joint troubleshooting sessions with teams.
  • Demonstrate expertise in HANA high availability and backup/recovery methods.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with 3+ years specifically as an SAP HANA Database Administrator.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database procedural languages.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and Linux environment.
  • Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills.
  • Experience with database trace utilities and log-file analysis.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred.
