Summary: The SAP BTP Cloud Architect role requires a highly experienced professional with hands-on expertise in DNS-level traffic routing, multi-region architecture configuration, and disaster recovery strategy design. The position involves working with AWS Route 53, Azure Traffic Manager, and SAP BTP services to create resilient cloud solutions. This is a contract position with a duration of 6 months, and candidates must be based in the EU. Occasional travel to Denmark is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and configure DNS-level traffic routing and failover using AWS Route 53 or Azure Traffic Manager
- Design and implement multi-region setups for SAP BTP services (Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Integration Suite, etc.)
- Define and configure load balancing, health checks, failover rules, and routing policies
- Build and document disaster recovery strategies, ensuring integration between SAP BTP and hyperscaler-native services
- Support setup of cross-region failover, replication, and DNS TTL optimization
- Work closely with BASIS, infrastructure, and development teams to support high availability (HA) targets
- Conduct DR testing and document DR/BCP procedures
- Assist in the configuration of SAP BTP security, service bindings, subscriptions, and connectivity
Key Skills:
- 7+ years in cloud architecture or operations roles
- Strong configuration and implementation experience with AWS Route 53 and Azure Traffic Manager
- Expertise in configuring SAP BTP multi-region deployment environments
- Hands-on with SAP BTP cockpit, service plans, entitlements, subaccounts, and transport management
- Experience with SAP HANA system replication and cloud storage for backups
- Good command of CI/CD, service connectivity, and Cloud Foundry/Kyma configuration
- Strong documentation and collaboration skills
