Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on SAP Basis Consultant with experience in SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, networking, and SAP security to support a critical ERP implementation. The organization is a small holding company consisting of 4 6 entities and approximately 60 employees, with no internal IT staff currently in place.

As the company prepares for its first go-live in March, this role will play a key part in supporting the SAP environment and ensuring the stability and security of the system throughout the implementation and beyond.

This opportunity is remote-first with occasional travel during key project phases. There is also potential for long-term conversion to a full-time employee if the engagement is successful.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day SAP Basis administration for SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.
• Support system installations, configurations, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
• Provide hands-on expertise in SAP networking and security, ensuring robust system access controls and compliance.
• Work closely with the system integrator and internal stakeholders to maintain system availability and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in post-go-live support and help lay the groundwork for a sustainable support model within the organization.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to align SAP infrastructure with business needs.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience with SAP Basis administration in S/4HANA Private Cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts as they relate to SAP systems.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Security (user roles, authorizations, access controls).
• Ability to operate in a lean, fast-paced environment with minimal internal IT support.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to small or mid-sized company environments, especially during ERP implementations.
• Familiarity with SAP support models post-go-live.
• Experience working with external implementation partners or system integrators.

Work Arrangement & Travel

• Remote Work: 100% remote with flexible work arrangements.
• Travel: Some travel may be required during key project phases (e.g., go-live). All travel expenses will be covered.

Candidate Levels Considered.

• Mid-Level: Candidates with 3 5+ years of SAP Basis and cloud infrastructure experience.
• Senior-Level: Candidates with deep expertise in SAP Basis, S/4HANA, and security/networking leadership.
