Summary: Robert Half Technology is seeking a skilled SAP Basis Consultant for a 6-month remote contract, focusing on technical separation and stabilization of SAP environments during M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a fast-paced private equity environment, demonstrating a strong ability to manage tight deadlines and ensure high-quality execution. Key responsibilities include hands-on execution of SAP carve-outs, core SAP Basis administration, and infrastructure support. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and risk management in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute system and client copies across SAP landscapes (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC)
- Perform post-copy technical activities including BDLS, logical system updates, and RFC realignment
- Reconfigure transport routes and landscape topology
- Support system Shell creation and environment rebuilds
- Troubleshoot technical separation issues in Real Time during cutover
- SAP installation, configuration, and patching
- Kernel upgrades and SAP Notes implementation
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Background job management and reconfiguration
- User and role restructuring post-separation
- Support database activities including SAP HANA administration
- Execute migrations and system refreshes
- Assist with cloud-hosted environments (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
- Configure backup, high availability, and disaster recovery setups
- Deliver against tight carve-out deadlines
- Maintain clear technical risk visibility
- Focus on efficiency, cost awareness, and long-term sustainability
- Support Transitional Service Agreement (TSA) timelines and exit plans
Key Skills:
- 5+ years SAP Basis experience
- Proven hands-on involvement in at least one SAP carve-out or divestiture
- Strong experience with homogeneous and heterogeneous system copies
- Logical system changes (BDLS)
- Transport Management System (TMS)
- RFC/ALE/IDoc reconfiguration
- Experience supporting Day 1 cutover execution
- Strong troubleshooting capability under pressure

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a high-pace, results-driven PE environment where timelines are tight, governance is lean, and execution quality is critical.
Role
SAP Carve-Out & System Separation (Hands-On Execution)- The SAP Basis consultant will execute system and client copies across SAP landscapes (eg, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC)
