Summary: The SAP AVC Lead role involves acting as a functional lead and solution architect for a new S4 Hana project, focusing on the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Advanced Variant Configuration solutions. The position requires collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver effective AVC solutions. The role is remote but requires consultants to be based in Europe for client visits to Germany or Sweden. The contract duration is 12 months, starting ideally in mid-August or September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of SAP AVC solutions in S/4HANA.
- Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and system designs.
- Configure AVC models, constraints, rules, and knowledge bases in S/4HANA.
- Provide solution architecture guidance, ensuring integration with SD, MM, PP, EWM, and other modules.
- Oversee end-to-end AVC processes, including sales, manufacturing, and service configuration.
- Collaborate with developers on enhancements, interfaces, and custom solutions.
- Drive testing strategy, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Support cutover planning and hypercare after go-live.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior SAP configuration resources.
- Act as the primary contact for all AVC-related topics during the project.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 8–10 years of SAP experience with at least 2 full-cycle implementations of S/4HANA AVC or classical VC.
- Strong expertise in SAP AVC model design, dependencies, constraints, and knowledge base maintenance.
- Deep understanding of variant BOMs, routings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with integration of AVC with SD (sales orders, quotations), PP (production orders), and EWM.
- Proven ability to design and optimise complex product configuration models.
- Experience with SAP Best Practices for AVC.
- Ability to perform fit-gap analysis and propose robust solutions.
- Familiarity with Fiori apps for AVC configuration and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
SAP certification in S/4HANA or relevant modules (preferred but not required).
