Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP ABAP Architect / Technical Advisor with strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP architecture, S/4HANA development, technical design, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate will serve as a senior technical advisor, providing architectural guidance, reviewing SAP technical solutions, establishing development standards, and supporting modernization initiatives across the SAP landscape.
This is a long-term opportunity based in Orlando, FL, with approximately 20% onsite presence and the remainder remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level SAP ABAP architecture and technical advisory across SAP applications and enterprise solutions.
- Lead the technical design and architecture of complex SAP ABAP and S/4HANA solutions.
- Define and enforce SAP development standards, coding guidelines, architecture principles, and best practices.
- Review existing ABAP solutions and recommend improvements related to performance, scalability, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Provide technical guidance for SAP modernization and S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate existing custom ABAP developments and identify opportunities for clean-core compliant extensions and modernization.
- Design and review RICEF objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
- Provide technical leadership for ABAP OO, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, OData, and modern S/4HANA development.
- Advise development teams on appropriate SAP extension approaches and architectural patterns.
- Provide technical guidance on SAP BTP capabilities and how BTP services can complement the SAP application landscape.
- Collaborate with SAP functional teams, enterprise architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, code reviews, and solution assessments.
- Troubleshoot complex SAP technical issues and provide root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Review technical specifications and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
- Mentor senior and junior ABAP developers and provide technical direction to development teams.
- Support performance optimization and technical remediation of existing SAP applications.
- Contribute to SAP roadmap planning, technical assessments, and future-state architecture.
- Ensure SAP solutions follow appropriate security, governance, compliance, and development standards.
Required Technical Skills
SAP ABAP
12+ years of strong SAP ABAP development and architecture experience.
Extensive experience with ABAP OO and modern ABAP development.
Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA technical architecture and development.
