SAP ABAP Architect

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced SAP ABAP Architect with strong hands-on development expertise and excellent stakeholder communication skills. The ideal candidate should have deep experience in SAP architecture, conducting client workshops, solution design, technical leadership, and mentoring development teams. This role requires both strategic architectural capability and the ability to work individually on complex technical implementations.

The candidate must be capable of interacting with business stakeholders, gathering requirements, conducting technical workshops, defining best practices, and delivering scalable SAP solutions across multiple SAP modules.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP ABAP architecture and solution design activities across enterprise SAP landscapes.
• Conduct client workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and technical discussions with business and functional teams.
• Define technical architecture, development standards, coding guidelines, and integration approaches.
• Provide hands-on ABAP development and troubleshooting support for complex custom developments.
• Work independently as an individual contributor while also guiding offshore/onshore development teams.
• Design and develop solutions using:
• Object-Oriented ABAP
• CDS Views
• OData Services
• SAP Gateway
• Enhancements / BADIs / User Exits
• Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Forms, Enhancements (RICEF)
• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture review boards and provide recommendations for system improvements and optimization.
• Lead performance tuning, code optimization, and technical troubleshooting activities.
• Support SAP integrations with third-party systems using APIs, IDOCs, RFCs, BAPIs, and web services.
• Mentor junior developers and review technical deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, governance, and security standards.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of strong SAP ABAP development experience.
• 3+ years of SAP Architecture / Technical Lead experience.
• Strong expertise in:
• SAP ABAP
• OOABAP
• SAP S/4HANA
• CDS Views
• OData
• SAP Fiori integration concepts
• Enhancements Framework
• ALE/IDOC
• RFC/BAPI
• Web Services/API integration
• Experience conducting workshops and leading customer discussions independently.
• Strong hands-on experience in architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
• Experience working directly with business users and leadership teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• SAP UI5/Fiori knowledge.
• Experience with SAP integration tools.
• Agile/Scrum project experience.
• SAP certification is a plus.
