Salesforce Release Engineer with Gearset, Copado Experience

Experience & Skills

  • 8 to 10 years of experience as Salesforce release engineer leveraging deployment tools (e.g. Gearset ,Copado)
  • Experience of Salesforce configuration - user/role/profile setup, record sharing, workflows, validation rules, etc.
  • Strong experience with source control systems such as GitHub, Azure Devops etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) tools and processes, such as Gearset
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce Deployment lifecycle and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve deployment issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Salesforce developers, administrators, and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute scheduled releases across multiple Salesforce instances.
  • Ensure Proper tracking of released components in version control.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and ensure seamless transitions from development to production environments.
  • Manage and optimize Salesforce environments, including sandboxes, to support parallel development and testing.
  • Collaborate closely with Salesforce development teams to enforce DevOps best practices and improve overall delivery velocity.
  • Prepare release notes and communication release progress/status to scrum and stakeholders.
  • Conduct release Readiness reviews ,Milestone reviews ,Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Ensure compliance and governance, defining and enforcing policies across the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor Salesforce application health and release metrics, providing visibility and insights to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with development staff to resolve build problems and merge conflicts.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments and production.
  • Data loading /seeding of sandbox environments to provide functional environments for development and testing.
  • Evaluate and mitigate all risks to environment security and stability.
  • Keep informed of new technologies and methodologies through publications ,memberships in professional organizations and contact with IT organizations and institutions.
