Summary: The Salesforce Release Manager will oversee and manage the deployment of updates across clients' Salesforce environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. This fully remote, fixed-term role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance release management processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in JIRA, GIT, and CI/CD, and will be responsible for the end-to-end deployment process across various environments. This position is suited for detail-oriented professionals eager to optimize release processes in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, coordinate and oversee Salesforce deployments, ensuring seamless updates and minimal business disruption
- Represent the Salesforce estate at CAB approval meetings, aligned with the overall business process
- Monitor Salesforce updates and ensure the team is prepared for key releases
- Track all Salesforce changes and maintain alignment within the team
- Lead the improvement of release and pipeline management processes, including GIT, JIRA and CI/CD
- Plan release cycles and ensure efficient delivery of project milestones
- Align release schedules with business unit UAT, go-live plans and major campaigns to mitigate risk
- Coordinate required resources for releases, balancing third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases and infrastructure updates
- Identify and manage risks that could impact release schedules and quality
- Develop implementation and deployment plans to support a structured release process
Key Skills:
- Previous experience working with Salesforce, including release management responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with GIT and branching strategies
- Strong knowledge and experience with CI/CD processes
- Experience with tool selection and delivery for deployments, with a focus on process improvements
- Familiarity with DevOps (preferred) and Agile methodologies
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Working knowledge of APEX
- Understanding of project management methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall or Kanban
- Strong grasp of application, system and Salesforce architecture
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
