Research Accounting Advisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on project budgets and financial performance.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance on funding rules and processes.
  • Manage the financial lifecycle of research projects, including set-up, invoicing, journal postings, funding claims and project closure.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, including income, expenditure and salary forecasting.
  • Cost project extensions and support financial planning.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare information for audits.
  • Analyse financial data, investigate variances and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing financial processes.

About You: You will have:

  • Experience in finance administration within a busy environment.
  • Experience monitoring and reporting financial information.
  • An AAT qualification (or equivalent finance experience).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience in research finance or grant management.
  • Experience supporting financial audits.
  • Project management experience.
