Summary: The Requirements Engineer for Aerospace Systems Engineering will support the development of advanced airborne systems, avionics, and embedded solutions. This role involves driving requirements engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with certification standards. The position is based in the UK and offers a competitive hourly rate. The contract is for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, analyse, manage, and validate system, equipment, and software requirements.
- Perform requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and verification planning.
- Develop and maintain system specifications, compliance matrices, and verification evidence.
- Support system architecture, interface definition, integration, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with Software, Hardware, Safety, Test, Quality, and Certification teams.
- Support aerospace certification processes aligned with DO-178C and related standards.
Key Skills:
- Experience in aerospace systems engineering, avionics, flight control, or safety-critical embedded systems.
- Strong expertise in requirements-based engineering and requirements management.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next / DOORS, including traceability and requirements database management.
- Knowledge of aerospace standards: DO-178C / DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754A, DO-160.
- Experience supporting system and software requirements development, verification & validation activities, requirements reviews, and compliance evidence.
- Familiarity with avionics interfaces such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664 / AFDX, MIL-STD-1553, CAN.
