Summary: The role of Remote Oracle DBA involves managing Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting application development life cycles. Candidates should possess extensive experience with Oracle tools and technologies, particularly in RAC environments. The position is fully remote and requires expertise in database administration and tuning. The role is classified as outside IR35, indicating a flexible working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite, Grid Control tool, TOAD Tool/Oracle SQL Developer or comparable tools.
  • Experience as an Oracle database administrator.
  • Experience in using the full functionality of RMAN backup utility.
  • Experience in database performance tuning and application SQL tuning, with at least 3 years in Oracle RAC environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in supporting applications system development life cycle.
  • Experience in performing database upgrades/patches, with 3 years in Oracle or RAC.
  • Experience as an Oracle database administrator using AIX (version 7.x or higher) operating system environment.
  • Experience in setting up/building and configuring Oracle RAC.
  • Experience in using Oracle ASM, with at least 4 years in RAC environment.
  • Experience writing scripts in AIX operating system environment (UNIX/Shell).
  • Experience in using snapshot cloning technology with Oracle ACFS and Oracle RAC & Standby database.
  • Experience in setting up and configuring physical standby/logical database/data guard.
  • Experience in Active Data Guard (ADG) and data guard broker.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience with Oracle database administration.
  • Proficiency in Oracle tools such as RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and TOAD.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and SQL tuning.
