Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Remote Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to monitor and maintain our IT infrastructure. The role involves identifying and resolving network issues, responding to system alerts, and ensuring high availability of critical services as part of a 24/7 NOC team. This position is ideal for professionals with strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance and availability using NOC monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, Datadog)
- Respond to alerts, investigate incidents, and perform first-level troubleshooting of outages or degradation
- Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2/3 engineers or vendors as needed
- Document incidents, actions taken, and resolution steps in the ticketing system (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, patching, and system health checks
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Network, Security, Systems) to resolve issues and implement improvements
- Participate in 24/7 rotation shifts (if applicable), including weekends or nights
- Follow SOPs and contribute to updating technical documentation and playbooks
Key Skills:
- 1+ years experience in a NOC, IT Support, or Network Monitoring role
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPN)
- Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, and remote access tools (SSH, RDP, TeamViewer)
- Experience with monitoring and ticketing platforms
- Basic Linux and Windows Server troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and follow defined procedures
