Summary: The role of Network/Cyber Security Administrator involves supporting state agencies in maintaining secure and compliant network infrastructures. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and execute Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.
- Facilitate the decommissioning and refresh of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware.
- Implement security controls and configurations for compliance with IRS, FBI, and CJI standards.
- Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours incidents.
- Availability for scheduled maintenance and emergency response outside standard hours.
Key Skills:
- Network security administration in enterprise or government environments.
- Hands-on experience with firewall administration and rule management.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks and Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing concepts).

This role is 100% REMOTE - MON-FRI 8am - 5:00pm (CST)
Network and Cyber Security Administrator will support to ensure state agencies maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructures. They will focus on mitigating operational challenges, hardware life-cycles, and the execution of critical security requests.
Perform network security tasks:
Administrative Daily Responsibilities: Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.
Infrastructure Modernization: Facilitating the decommissioning and "refresh" of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis.
Compliance Maintenance: Implementing security controls and configurations to ensure agencies remain in alignment with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards.
Hardware Administration: Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
Technical Qualifications:
Palo Alto Firewalls: Next-generation firewall features such as, Zones, security policies, S2S VPN, Natting, and basic threat prevention
Cisco ASA Firewalls: Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management.
General Networking: foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model ETC..
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Network security administration in enterprise or government environments
Hands-on experience with firewall administration and rule management
Palo Alto Networks firewalls (Next-Generation Firewall features including zones, security policies, NAT, S2S VPN, and basic threat prevention)
Cisco ASA firewalls (configuration, troubleshooting, access rules, and policy management)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing concepts)
Experience managing firewall service requests, change requests, and break/fix tickets
Knowledge of network infrastructure lifecycle management, including EOL/EOS hardware refresh and decommissioning
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (e.g., FBI CJIS, IRS Pub 1075, or similar regulated environments)
Ability to implement and maintain security controls, policies, and configuration standards
Strong troubleshooting skills for network connectivity and security issues
SCHEDULE/SUPPORT:
On-Call Rotation: Participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after-hours incidents.
After-Hours Maintenance: Availability for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours.
Background checks: Must be able to pass Criminal, financial backgrounds and drug test
