Summary: The role is for an Oracle DBA/Exadata Migration Specialist focused on migrating databases from Exadata X9 to X11 servers for the University of Wisconsin Madison. The position requires extensive experience in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting. It is a fully remote position open to candidates nationwide within the continental US. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed technical root cause analysis of Oracle database systems.
- Utilize RMAN and Data Guard for database management and recovery.
- Create scripts to automate processes in Oracle database environments.
- Assist in the migration of databases from Exadata X9 to Exadata X11 servers.
- Configure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) for the databases during migration.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of technical and functional knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with RMAN and Data Guard.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in root cause analysis of Oracle database systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in scripting for process automation in Oracle environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
