Summary: The Reinsurance Finance Specialist role is a contract position focused on enhancing SOX-level financial controls, supporting audit cycles, and ensuring compliance with Solvency II reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and test SOX-level financial controls for reinsurance processes
  • Act as audit liaison, coordinating with internal and external auditors
  • Maintain documentation and policy records related to reinsurance financial processes
  • Develop and maintain process flowcharts and control diagrams
  • Support quarterly and annual SII reporting deliverables, including S30 forms
  • Contribute to statutory reporting as required by the finance function
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and control standards
  • Contribute to finance system implementations and data improvement projects
  • Work cross-functionally to align reinsurance operations with the target operating model
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the reinsurance finance lifecycle
  • Liaise with various internal teams (finance, audit, risk, compliance)
  • Provide subject matter expertise on controls, audit readiness, and reporting

Key Skills:

  • Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry, ideally with exposure to both US GAAP and Solvency II
  • Strong track record delivering on controls, audit support, and SII reporting in a regulated environment
  • Previous exposure to SOX environments and control documentation/testing
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong Excel and documentation skills; process-oriented and detail-focused

Arthur Financial have partnered with a technology-driven insurance business to support with their search for an experienced interim Reinsurance Finance Specialist to support critical deliverables across their SOX control environment, audit cycle, and Solvency II reporting. This role will have a strong focus on ensuring robust SOX-level financial controls, supporting internal and external audit requests, and delivering accurate SII submissions. You will also play a hands-on role in process improvement initiatives and operational enhancement. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified contractor with strong controls, audit, and reporting experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector to step into a high-impact, fast-moving role.
