Summary: The Red Hat SME role involves providing technical, managerial, and administrative direction for complex systems related to Red Hat technologies. The position requires expertise in RHEL and associated tools, with responsibilities including system improvements, troubleshooting, and support for OpenShift environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide OpenShift Support
- Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, hardening and monitoring of physical & virtual RHEL servers.
- Review customer designs and documentation specific to Red Hat technologies, and providing recommendations for improvement based on Red Hat best practices
- Performing system diagnosis and troubleshooting of Red Hat technology related issues
- Coordinating Kernel/Patch Upgrades and helping with related strategies
- Assist customer to build-out the Red Hat lab environment to mirror the environment currently being utilized
- Work with customer to update existing processes and procedures to allow a more methodical implementation of the OCP
- Providing validation of the OCP cluster environment using steps provided in the OCP documentation
- Helping Customer define replication behavior for targeted workloads
- Refine and update migration plans to transition applications from existing OCP clusters onto new clusters
- Assist with configuring an appropriate Container Registry
- Assist with configuring OCP to utilize provided storage
- Providing recommendations to address Customer's security requirements
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of problems within OCP infrastructure
- Support of current, and future-state architecture planning efforts associated with Red Hat products currently being leveraged
Key Skills:
- Expert knowledge of RHEL, Red Hat technologies (e.g. Satellite, OpenShift, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
- Network configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and server configuration
- Experience with supporting RHEL/7 environments to include OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)

The Red Hat SME would be responsible for providing technical, managerial, and administrative direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the subject matter area. Make recommendations and advise on organization-wide system improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communications protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; lifecycle management; software development methodologies; and modeling and simulation. Commensurate experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise
The Red Hat SME should have the following skills:
Expert knowledge of RHEL, Red Hat technologies (e.g. Satellite, OpenShift, Ansible, Puppet, etc.), network configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and server configuration.
Experience with supporting RHEL/7 environments to include OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
