Quantity Surveyor – Inside/Outside IR35

Job Purpose: As a Quantity Surveyor your main responsibilities would be to:
- Support the Procurement Team in managing and delivering engineering and construction works, ensuring works are fairly valued and billed in line with progress achieved.
- Assist with the management and control of project costs, ensuring expenditure is valid, forecast accurately, and represents value for money.
- Support the preparation of procurement documentation, including ITTs, terms and conditions, cost estimates and tender support information.
- Assist in the monitoring and administration of NEC contracts, ensuring contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
- Measure and value works completed, including reviewing applications for payment, valuing variations, and preparing payment certificates.
- Support the review and maintenance of Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates, and cost reports, ensuring costs remain aligned with approved forecasts.
You’ll have:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on construction, engineering, mechanical or building services projects.
- Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, including cost control, valuations, and contractor performance.
- Experience in subcontractor procurement, including tender evaluation, valuations, and payment processes.
- Demonstrable experience in cost management, forecasting, and ensuring value for money across project lifecycles.
- Ability to measure and value construction works, including reviewing Bills of Quantities and schedules of rates.
- Working towards or holding RICS
