Quality Engineer / SDET (USC)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer / SDET to design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks supporting web, mobile, and API applications.

The ideal candidate will bring strong automation experience, hands-on programming skills, and the ability to execute a wide range of testing types including regression, performance, security, and accessibility.

This role requires close collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites.
• Execute multiple testing types including smoke, regression, integration, performance, security, and accessibility testing.
• Conduct API testing for RESTful and SOAP-based services.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into test plans and cases.
• Track and manage bugs, ensuring timely resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and support a culture of quality across engineering teams.
• Support production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
• Define and track quality metrics, reporting results to leadership.
• Continuously improve test tools, processes, and coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and peers to align test strategies across multiple products.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Must have experience applying SOLID principles in software development and testing.
• Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure).
• ISTQB or equivalent certification.
