QGIS Specialist | Remote

Summary: The QGIS Specialist role is a contract position focused on leading end-to-end GIS projects using QGIS, including data acquisition, cleaning, and map production. The specialist will document workflows, manage spatial datasets, and ensure high accuracy in outputs while troubleshooting issues. This position requires extensive hands-on experience with QGIS and strong communication skills to explain technical decisions. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end projects in QGIS, managing raw spatial data acquisition, cleaning, and producing final map outputs.
• Document workflows and reasoning in real-time while performing data management, spatial analysis, and map production tasks.
• Organize, clean, and validate diverse spatial datasets to ensure high accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
• Manage projections, coordinate systems, and spatial references to optimize data interoperability and output quality.
• Style and symbolize map layers for clarity and professional presentation in various contexts.
• Troubleshoot issues within QGIS workflows and explain problem-solving strategies as they arise.
