Summary: The QA Analyst role is focused on developing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies for both legacy Mainframe systems and modern interfaces, ensuring high-quality software delivery. The position requires collaboration within an Agile environment and involves managing the complete defect cycle while providing support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Candidates must have extensive experience in Mainframe testing and familiarity with API testing tools. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing activities.
  • Critically validate data flow between legacy Mainframe systems and other modern interfaces.
  • Apply strong knowledge and experience with Mainframe testing, including technologies like COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with API testing tools; Salesforce testing experience is an advantage.
  • Manage the complete defect cycle, identifying, documenting, and reporting defects using tools like Jira and qTest.
  • Work effectively within an Agile environment, collaborating with Test supervisors, Project Managers, Product Owners, and developers.
  • Provide support to end-users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase.
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test results and progress reports.
  • Possess knowledge of applicable federal/state/local rules, regulations, statutes, and procedures in Child Support.

  • 5+ years of experience in testing core methodologies and SDLC.
  • 5+ years of experience with Mainframe testing (COBOL, JCL, DB2, Batch Job Analysis).
  • 5+ years of working knowledge of Jira, Tricentis qTest, and MS Office.
  • 4+ years of strong analytical skills and experience with UAT support.

  • Contract: This is a Contract position.
  • Residency Requirement: Candidate must currently reside in the state of Indiana.
  • Mode of Interview: Webcam only.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Testing Planning and Execution

  • Test Strategy: Develop and execute detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Testing Types: Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing activities.
  • Data Validation: Critically validate data flow between legacy Mainframe systems and other modern interfaces.

Technical and System Focus

  • Mainframe Testing (5+ Years): Apply strong knowledge and experience with Mainframe testing, including technologies like COBOL, JCL, and DB2. This includes analyzing batch job results and collaborating with developers for resolution.
  • Modern Systems: Utilize good knowledge and experience with API testing tools. Experience with Salesforce testing is an added advantage.
  • Defect Management: Manage the complete defect cycle. Identify, document, and report defects and issues to development teams using tools like Jira and qTest . Work collaboratively to ensure quality standards are met.

Collaboration and Support

  • Agile Environment: Work effectively within an Agile environment, collaborating with Test supervisors, Project Managers, Product Owners, and developers.
