Summary: The role of Python Developer with FastAPI involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs within a cloud-native environment. The position requires extensive experience with Python and API frameworks, as well as collaboration with data engineering teams to ensure seamless integration within the architecture. The developer will also work with Google Cloud Platform to optimize performance and participate in CI/CD workflows. This is a remote position aimed at candidates with a strong background in software development and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting the benefits renewal ecosystem.
  • Build scalable, reliable, and secure software components within a cloud-native environment.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate data pipelines and backend services.
  • Ensure seamless communication between systems within the Aetna/CVS architecture.
  • Work within Google Cloud Platform to build and deploy services.
  • Leverage cloud-native tools and services to optimize performance and scalability.
  • Participate in CI/CD workflows and automated deployment processes.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with Flask, FastAPI, or similar API frameworks or Java frameworks like SpringBoot.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python.
  • 3+ years of experience with build automation technologies.
  • 3+ years of software development in enterprise/web/cloud applications.
  • Experience with Java (preferred).
  • Experience with relational/NoSQL databases; knowledge of Google Cloud Platform cloud stores (Spanner, BigTable) is a plus.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, preferably, but alternatively Azure or AWS.
