Summary: The Senior Python Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing backend systems and APIs using Python and Neo4j/Neptune. The position requires collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions for clients. This is a fully remote contract position based in the UK, with a focus on best practices in backend development. The role is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement APIs and backend solutions.
- Monitor, test, and continuously optimize solutions.
- Explain technical solutions in client meetings.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Neo4j/Neptune and Cypher.
- Familiarity with SQL, RDBMS, and key-value databases.
- Experience with GCP (e.g., Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, BigQuery) or similar AWS services.
- Proficiency in Python web frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI) for building APIs and system integration.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (nice to have).
- Knowledge of Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (nice to have).
