Summary: The role involves leading a Vulnerability Management Improvement Programme as a hands-on operational lead, requiring SC Clearance and the ability to manage day-to-day deliverables while aligning strategic objectives. The position is remote with occasional travel to multiple sites. The candidate must have proven experience in Cyber Security project management, particularly in vulnerability management. This role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workstream Leadership: Take end-to-end ownership of a dedicated vulnerability management improvement workstream, driving the delivery of strategic solutions independent of day-to-day operations
- Rapid Delivery: Operate within a fast-paced environment (with initial 3-month delivery milestones) to implement tangible improvements to processes, tooling, or cross-functional engagement
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary bridge between the core Vulnerability Management team, IT Operations, and wider business units to ensure project deliverables are adopted smoothly without disrupting ongoing operational work.
- Governance & Tracking: Maintain robust project governance, tracking milestones, managing dependencies between the different vulnerability workstreams, and reporting progress to senior leadership.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify roadblocks-such as resource constraints or technical blockers within IT resolver groups-and develop swift mitigation strategies to keep your workstream on track.
Key Skills:
- Cyber Security Delivery Experience: Proven experience managing complex, fast-paced projects within Cyber Security, ideally with specific exposure to Vulnerability Management, patching lifecycles, or infrastructure remediation.
- Rapid Execution Mindset: The ability to parachute into an inflight, high-pressure environment, quickly understand the strategic objectives, and start delivering value immediately.
- Exceptional Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to manage competing priorities, overcome organisational challenges, and negotiate effectively with busy IT operations teams
- Structured & Adaptable: Strong formal project management skills (eg, Prince2, Agile, PMP) combined with the pragmatism to adapt your approach to suit a dynamic and stabilising environment.
- Resilience & Autonomy: The ability to work independently to drive your specific workstream while maintaining alignment with the Programme Lead and the other Project Managers.
