Project Manager/Sr. Consultant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to support a technology engineering team in Chicago, IL. This Long-term Contract position is fully remote through at least year end and requires a strong project leader who can keep multiple initiatives moving forward with clear communication, structured planning, and dependable follow-through. The ideal candidate will bring a practical understanding of Agile delivery methods and the ability to provide accurate, timely updates to leadership while coordinating cross-functional workstreams.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate up to four concurrent workstreams, ensuring priorities, timelines, and next steps remain clearly defined and actively managed.

Build and maintain detailed project plans, track milestones, and adjust schedules as needed to keep deliverables on target.

Monitor project budgets and resource activities, helping the team stay aligned with financial and operational expectations.

Facilitate daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and recurring project meetings to promote accountability and remove delivery obstacles.

Provide leadership with consistent status reporting that highlights progress, risks, dependencies, and recommended actions.

Partner with technical and business stakeholders to drive communication across teams and ensure follow-up on open items.

Use Jira, kanban boards, and other Agile tools to organize work, manage visibility, and support efficient execution.

Oversee multiple projects at the same time within a technology-focused environment while maintaining quality and momentum.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience managing IT or technology-related projects in a project manager or senior consultant capacity.
Strong ability to create project plans, coordinate schedules, and keep several initiatives progressing simultaneously.
Hands-on experience with Agile practices, including Scrum, kanban, or similar delivery frameworks.
Proficiency with Jira and related project tracking tools used to manage tasks, workflows, and reporting.
Proven skill in budget oversight, status communication, and stakeholder coordination across cross-functional teams.
Ability to run daily stand-ups and project meetings while driving action items through completion.
PMP certification or comparable project management credentials are preferred, though extensive relevant experience will also be considered.
