Summary: The Project Manager for Inventory and Cost Accounting (ICA) will lead a transformational initiative aimed at optimizing inventory valuation and cost accounting processes across global manufacturing facilities. This role involves collaboration with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to enhance manufacturing cost accounting practices. The ideal candidate will manage the implementation of standardized processes and ensure compliance with financial policies. Occasional travel to Los Angeles is required for key meetings and testing sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Inventory and Cost Accounting project across multiple global manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and manufacturing excellence initiatives
  • Partner with plant controllers and operations teams to analyze current inventory valuation methodologies and implement the Client's standardized cost accounting practices
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timeline management, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication plans
  • Drive the implementation of a standard inventory valuation processes across facilities, ensuring consistent application of accounting principles and manufacturing cost methodologies
  • Lead cross-functional workshops to gather requirements, document business processes, and validate proposed solutions
  • Work with external consultants and system integrators to implement technical solutions that support improved inventory management and cost accounting practices
  • Monitor project metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and SOX regulations throughout the implementation process

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of project management experience in manufacturing operations, with demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles, inventory management practices, and operational excellence methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems implementation or optimization projects, particularly in manufacturing environments
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, from shop floor to executive leadership
  • Experience with change management methodologies and frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Strong proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to various Client locations
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Working experience with IBM i-Series systems preferred
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and inventory management systems is a plus
