Summary: The M&A Project Manager role is focused on leading the implementation of new HR, Payroll, and Benefits systems as part of a large-scale merger and acquisition integration. The position requires expertise in assessing current HR technology and defining future operating models across global entities. The successful candidate will act as a senior consultant, ensuring compliance with M&A timelines and delivering exceptional service to stakeholders. This is a fully remote position classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ambassador to the business, demonstrating confidence, experience, knowledge & skill in the execution of mergers, acquisitions, separations, integrations, and carve-outs.
  • Conduct a full assessment of the customer's existing HR, payroll, and benefits systems across all brands and entities.
  • Define the target operating model and system landscape post-merger.
  • Lead the stand-up and implementation planning for:
    • Benefits systems (must go live on Day 1 of the merger)
    • HR & Payroll systems (go-live planned for Month 5)
  • Validate current platforms (eg, Workday) and support the selection of the future HRIS (likely not Workday).
  • Operate as a senior consultant/project manager within a complex carve-out environment.
  • Work directly with the global end customer, ensuring exceptional service levels, communication, and time management.
  • Coordinate across different entities and multiple brands with differing system baselines.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with M&A timelines, compliance requirements, and global HR standards.

Key Skills:

  • Proven background as a Project Manager, Programme Manager, or Project Consultant within HR, Payroll, and Benefits transformation.
  • Strong experience in M&A, carve-outs, or large-scale organisational integrations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of HRIS, payroll platforms, and global benefits systems.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders in a high-visibility, high-expectation environment.
  • Experience delivering in fast-paced, confidential, and complex programme structures.
  • Comfortable working fully remotely with global teams.

The Role
