Hays are currently partnered with one of the UK's largest Government organisations - supporting them with the recruitment of an experienced Project Manager for a project refresh, working with an existing project team.
This particular role is within a smaller branch of the large organisation, meaning the teams are close-knit and work collaboratively with a mutual understanding of their purpose and goals.
They are looking for a Project Manager with experience of creating Target Operating Models, working on change projects and who have experience working with external consultancies/third party suppliers.
This contract is going to be for 3 months.
The role will be mainly remote working (with the potential of going on site on occasion if required).
Your new role
- Establish and maintain project controls in line with organisational standards, including planning, governance, reporting, RAID and change control.
- Coordinate the organisations and supplier resources to deliver agreed project activities and outcomes.
- Manage the day-to-day consultancy engagement, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, milestones, dependencies and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate the review and acceptance of supplier deliverables, ensuring gaps and remedial actions are resolved before acceptance.
- Coordinate the identification, validation and ownership of benefits, disbenefits and success measures with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and report progress, risks, issues, dependencies and resource requirements, escalating where required.
- Ensure project outputs and outcomes are delivered to agreed time, cost, scope and quality.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven project management experience, including business transformation.
- Experience creating Target Operating Models.
- Familiar with change projects and benefits realisation.
- Experience establishing project controls, governance and reporting.
- Experience managing procured consultancy or supplier delivery against agreed outcomes.
- Experience reviewing and assuring supplier deliverables.
- Strong risk, issue, dependency and change management skills.
- Experience managing benefits, disbenefits and success measures.
- Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive delivery.
