Summary: A Tier One Project Management and Engineering Consultancy is seeking a Signalling Project Engineer for ongoing Network Rail projects, primarily in the North West Central and Eastern regions. This fully remote role may require occasional site or office visits, ideally suited for candidates based in the West or East Midlands. The initial contract is for 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension, offering a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead compliance with Network Rail engineering-driven safety requirements.
- Provide technical advice, conditions, and approvals consistent with Network Rail policies and standards.
- Manage the mitigation of engineering and safety risks associated with proposed and real-time outside and third-party activities.
- Provide technical advice on engineering design, safe by design, technical specifications, and construction activities.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and site supervision for safe delivery.
Key Skills:
- Experience in undertaking Engineering Assurance activities.
- Understanding of Railway Signalling Assets.
- Technical qualification to HNC/HND or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance.
- Competent in CDM.
- Highly experienced in the Signalling discipline.

A Tier One Project Management and Engineering Consultancy requires a SIGNALLING Project Engineer to support with ongoing Network Rail projects across the North West Central and Eastern regions.
This is a fully REMOTE position, which may require some site or office visits from time to time, so it would be ideal if you were based in the west or east midlands.
The initial contract duration will be 6 months, although it is highly likely to be extended.
The offered rate is £375 per day (inside IR35). This represents a great opportunity to secure a long term, stable contract position.
You’ll be right for the position if you:
- Experience of Undertaking Engineering Assurance activities
- Understanding Railway Signalling Assets
- Technical Qualification to HNC/HND or equivalent
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance
- Competent in CDM
- Be highly experienced in the Signalling discipline
Other areas of responsibility:
- Lead compliance with Network Rail engineering-driven safety requirements and provide technical advice, conditions and approvals consistent with Network Rail policies and standards on allocated schemes.
- Manage the mitigation of engineering and safety risks to the railway associated with proposed and real-time outside and third-party activities.
- Provide technical advice in respect of all engineering design, safe by design, technical specification and construction activities for safe delivery, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.
