Summary: Value Technology is seeking a Progress OpenEdge Production Support specialist to ensure the smooth operation of OpenEdge-based applications and provide effective solutions to production issues. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Progress OpenEdge applications in a production environment.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, including analyzing logs, debugging code, and implementing fixes.
  • Collaborate with development, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for support processes and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support as needed.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.
  • Manage and prioritize support requests and incidents according to severity and impact.

  • Work with vendors to resolve issues related to OpenEdge software and infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supporting Progress OpenEdge applications in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OpenEdge architecture, including AppServers, databases, and networking.
  • Proficiency in Progress 4GL programming language.
  • Experience with OpenEdge database administration, including performance tuning, backups, and recovery.
