Summary: The role of Product Owner/Sr. Business Analyst involves conducting comprehensive analyses of product models and ISO manuals to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance. The position requires managing product backlogs, collaborating with QA teams, and engaging with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the candidate will oversee feature prioritization and user acceptance testing to ensure successful product delivery. Strong experience in commercial lines business and Agile methodology is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysis of Product Model: Conduct comprehensive analysis and evaluation of product model, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs, including understanding of retrospective rating plans, large deductible plans, and self-insured retentions.
- ISO Manuals Analysis: Analyze ISO manuals for product offerings, including rates, rules, and forms, to ensure compliance and optimal product design.
- Feature Prioritization and Planning: Manage feature prioritization, participate in PI (Program Increment) planning, and oversee sprint planning to ensure timely and efficient delivery of features.
- Product Backlog Management: Maintain and manage the product backlog, ensuring requirements documentation is up-to-date, clear, and well-defined. Facilitate clarification and acceptance processes, with a focus on features related to loss sensitive policies.
- Quality Assurance Collaboration: Work closely with QA teams to develop testing scenarios that ensure comprehensive coverage of all use cases, particularly those unique to loss sensitive insurance programs. Review QA testing results to validate product quality.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Collaborate with business analysts to develop UAT scenarios. Manage and ensure the successful execution of UAT to verify product functionality and performance.
- Requirements Definition and Signoff: Collaborate with business and IT teams to define and obtain signoff on requirements.
- Defect Triage: Manage defect triage processes, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication of issues and fixes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to gather feedback, provide updates, and ensure alignment with business goals.
Key Skills:
- 8-10 years of experience as Product Owner / Business Analyst in commercial lines business.
- Excellent knowledge of ISO commercial lines product offerings, Rating and Forms.
- 6+ years of experience in implementation of commercial lines products on Guidewire Cloud PolicyCenter.
- Experience in loss sensitive insurance programs with Workers Comp, Commercial Auto and General Liability, including retrospective rating plans, large deductible plans, and self-insured retentions.
- Experience Loss Sensitive Insurance - Large/High Deductible, Retro rating or Retrospective rating, Dividend plan and Self Insured Retention changes.
- Proficient in managing product backlog, user story acceptance, and defect triage.
- Experience in Agile methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in progress reporting to stakeholders.
- Relevant industry certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar preferred.
