Key Responsibilities:
- Using 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods
- Developing deep technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams' design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems
- Collaborating with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability
- Exercising and developing skills in tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, design for high volume manufacturability and assembly, prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, and statistical process control
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of Mechanical Design industry experience
- High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion, and creativity
- Design intelligence: mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning, attention to detail
- Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics
- Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal
- 3D CAD experience with any program; 2D drafting and GD&T a plus
- Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing a plus
- Experience designing mechanical components for mass production a plus - specifically molded, formed, and machined parts

Key Qualifications:
5+ yrs of Mechanical Design industry experience
High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion and creativity
Design intelligence: mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning, attention to detail
Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics
Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal. Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
3D CAD experience with any program. 2D drafting and GD&T a plus
Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing a plus

Education:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
