What we're really looking for
The ideal candidate is a very strong Senior/Staff/Principal Software Engineer who has deep software engineering/architecture experience AND is very comfortable using AI coding agents to accelerate and change how software is delivered.
The AI experience is less about a specific tool and more about how they harness and direct AI agents to build software.
- Directing/navigating AI agents to build software
- Understanding where humans need to remain in the loop
- Testing while coding
- Using steering files/rules/instructions to guide AI toward the correct architecture
- Giving AI agents constraints and context
- Validating AI-generated output
- Establishing repeatable practices around AI-assisted development
- Experimenting with emerging AI development practices
Technical foundation: The candidate still needs to be a strong software engineer. Prioritize:
